Resource Assessment

Geologica Geothermal Group provides comprehensive support services for geothermal exploration and resource identification and assessment. These services include preliminary planning and prioritizing potential geothermal areas and implementation of temperature gradient studies, exploration drilling, and preliminary and detailed geoscientific studies in order to determine the existence and development potential of a viable geothermal resource.

Our exploration approach includes developing and interpreting the information necessary to indicate or confirm the presence of a potential developable and viable geothermal resource and to minimize resource risk for our clients. We seek to develop sufficient technical and cost information at each stage of exploration in order to help our clients make informed go/no-go development decisions.

Each geothermal area requires a unique exploration strategy. From initial surface studies to temperature gradient programs to developing or modifying a testable conceptual model of the geothermal system to successfully drilling a discovery and/or additional wells, Geologica Geothermal Group applies their extensive combined experience to design a strategy that suits the client and the area. From performing geothermal resource exploration and assessment work in North, Central, and South America, Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, Geologica Geothermal Group personnel have the capability and confidence to integrate the results of multi-disciplinary exploration studies to produce a single conclusion about the development potential of a geothermal resource. Exploration fieldwork has included desktop and field mapping, geochemical sampling, soil gas surveys, stream sampling, geophysical survey planning and interpretation, aerial photographic analysis, heat flow studies, and exploration drilling planning and oversight.
